Stout 'N' S'mores Ice Cream Recipe
What dessert represents summer the best? In a toss up between s’mores and ice cream, why not have both? We decided to combine our two favorite summer sweets into one indulgent dish, and to top it off we added our Grüvi Stout for a truly unique treat.
This simple recipe only requires a little bit of mixing before tossing into the freezer overnight. The smoky notes in our stout really enhance the s’mores flavor, and almost replicates that campfire experience. Toasted marshmallows and buttery graham crackers all come together for a creamy and crunchy bite. Our Grüvi team finished the first batch in one sitting- we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Ingredients:
-4 Tbsp butter
-1 Tbsp sugar
-1 cup graham crackers
-2 cups whipping cream
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
-1/3 cup Grüvi Non Alcoholic Stout
-1 tsp vanilla
-1/4 tsp salt
-1/2 bag marshmallows (around 20 or so)
-1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then slowly stir in sugar.
- Stir in crushed graham crackers until well coated and they start to toast, then remove from heat.
- In another bowl, use a stand mixer or hand mixer on medium speed to whip the cream until soft peaks form (about 3-4 minutes).
- Lower mixer speed and add the sweetened condensed milk until well combined, then add the stout, vanilla and salt.
- Preheat your broiler and arrange the marshmallows on a parchment lined baking sheet. Put under broiler until golden brown, about 60 seconds or so. Flip the marshmallows and broil for an additional 60 seconds.
- Keep close watch on the marshmallows, remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. Add them into the ice cream mixture and whisk for an additional 30 seconds until everything is well combined.
- Scrape mixture into an airtight container and cover with lid or plastic wrap. Freeze mixture for at least 10 hours or overnight.
- Scoop and serve with a freshly made waffle cone.
