Mocktail Recipe: Blackberry Basil Smash

If you're getting ready for game day, preparing to bring life into the world, or just savoring the end of summer - now is the time to load up on Grüvi bubbly wines that are perfect for any season and any occasion.

One of the best features of the Secco and Rosé wines is how great of a cocktail or mocktail base they make! Whether you're shooting for floral, tart, sweet or dry, the bubblies can make your mocktail dreams a reality.

Let's welcome this new season with bold flavors and zero hangovers!

Blackberry Basil Smash Mocktail

Ingredients:

✨ 6-8 limes, juiced (should yield 1/2 cup fresh lime juice)

✨ 6 oz fresh or frozen blackberries

✨ 1 tablespoon honey

✨ Fresh Basil: Medium sized bunch, reserving some leaves for garnish

✨ 3 bottles of Grüvi Dry Secco OR Bubbly Rosé

✨ Ice

Instructions:

This recipe is fun, as you can choose to use our Dry Secco or our Bubbly Rosé as your booze-free bev - and you can't go wrong with either choice! Here's 5 easy steps to make this smashing mocktail:

  1. Make the blackberry basil syrup. In a glass measuring cup, muddle together the fresh lime juice, blackberries, basil, and honey. Press and blend the ingredients together with a cocktail muddler, or the handle of a wooden spoon until they form a jam like consistency.
  2. Strain the berry mixture through a fine mesh sieve so you are left with just the lime berry syrup. Discard the solids.
  3. Pour the lime berry syrup into a glass pitcher and add the Dry Secco or Rosé.
  4. Add 3-4 cups of ice and stir.
  5. Divide the mocktail among glasses, and garnish with a lime slice, some fresh blackberries, and basil leaf.
