Black History Month is a wonderful time to reflect on Black History around the world. But it should only serve as a jumping off point for how we celebrate black people and their accomplishments throughout every day of every year.
Acknowledging and uplifting the black experience is of the utmost importance to the growth and success of all of our communities.
Though all black people's histories, futures, and experiences are influential and note-worthy, we wanted to highlight just a few of those in the alcohol-free space that are making big waves.
And just as importantly, how we can support them year after year!
Khadi Oluwatoyin, the creator and fearless face of Sober Black Girls Club, has been around for awhile now, even making an appearance on Red Table Talk with Jada Pinkett Smith!
Sober Black Girls Club provides safe spaces for black women to meet, stay sober and recover. However, the real work for them has just begun.
SBGC is officially a non-profit and need all the support they can get! You can support them through PayPal, CashApp, and/or by following and sharing to their name and message!
Chris Marshall is definitely making big strides in the alcohol-free space! He has been sober an incredible 16 years and providing an alcohol-free space to socialize in Austin, Texas for almost 6 years now! Making him one of the first on the zeroproof bar scene.
When asked about starting up Sans Bar, Chris said, "People were showing up when we were literally outside because they got the vision of what I was creating. It was not about the drinks -- and people come for the drinks -- but they stay for the community."

Brittany is definitely the definition of a cool hip mom!
