Now that we are heading to the end of July, we truly are in the thick of summer. Sweltering hot days, high humidity and the ongoing pandemic has seemed to sap the strength out of feeling productive these past few months. Despite this, I often remind myself to take some time to truly enjoy the present regardless of whatever else is going on.
I’ve found that playing “bartender” and experimenting with different mocktails & elixers has been a great way to find a little joy & presence while staying at home. There are so many options when it comes to tinctures, herbs and mixtures that getting creative is almost too easy. Get your own creative craft bartending skills ready and try out this version of a French 75, sans booze.

Ingredients
-2 cups ice
-3 oz. fresh lemon juice
-4 dashes orange bitters
-2 bottles Grüvi Prosecco
-Splash of tonic water
Instructions
Place the ice, lemon juice and bitters in a shaker cup or mason jar with the lid on, shake well. Divide the lemon juice mixture (without ice) into three champagne glasses (or other stemware you have on hand). Top each glass with prosecco until about 3/4 of the glass is full, then top with tonic water. Garnish with a fresh lemon peel twist and enjoy!
*Makes 3 Servings
*If you are a fan of sweeter mocktails, feel free to add a dash of simple syrup to the lemon juice mixture for a sweeter sip
